TCPR Virtual Training and Instruction
The Program
Virtual Interactive Training
Dr. Brian Gordon is considered in many circles to be among the most influential and innovative stroke mechanics coaches in tennis. He is unique in the industry as both a formally trained sport scientist (Biomechanics Ph.D. and Exercise Science M.B.S.) and a full-time high-performance coach.
The virtual training program was designed as a solution to a very common problem: visiting players (those not training regularly in South Florida) learning Brian’s stroke mechanics system can’t master it because they don’t have consistent reinforcement in their home programs.
The efficacy of the virtual program, combined with difficulty in traveling to Miami on a regular basis if at all, indicated that the program is a viable solution for anyone around the world who has an interest in building empirically based advanced mechanics.
Sessions are implemented just like a live session. Concepts are discussed and performance observed. Immediate feedback is provided in the context of all of the drilling formats including hand feeding, racquet feeding, live hitting and point play – all guided live by Brian Gordon.
Who Should Participate?
Early Development Players
It is critical that juniors in the early development stage (6-12 years) are provided a credible foundation and clear roadmap for progression. Developmental mistakes made at this stage are infinitely more difficult to correct at later stages, and create an avoidable barrier to future success.
High-Performance Players
Players at later junior development stages, through the college and professional levels, often discover technical deficiencies in their strokes that limit progression in competition. In most cases a modified approach with a few alterations can make a big difference.
Competitive Senior Players
Dedicated players participating in adult level competition often learned the concepts of the past. It can be transformative and fun to retrofit strokes to more current thinking. This is especially true for those who have interest in the intricacies of tennis stroke mechanics.
Tennis Coaches
The concepts of Brian’s mechanics system are important tools for any tennis coach. The virtual format presents a hands-on opportunity to learn and experiment with these concepts. This can be accomplished on a coaches’ own strokes or through participation on their student’s strokes.
The Process
Five Easy Steps
Step 1
Contact Dr. Gordon using the form below.
Step 2
We will determine the stroke for training and arrange a schedule.
Step 3
Prior to the session submit videos (side and back view) of the stroke.
Step 4
Go on a court with a device capable of live video and audio.
Step 5
We go to work. You will need a way to receive balls (feeder or hitter).
